Elena Pankova

Elena Pankova (b. 1974, Moscow, Russia) is a painter who often uses installation to frame or modify a body of painting. From a distance, her paintings are vibratory dashes of pure color. Up close, you can see the artist’s hand. Some brushstrokes are transparent, painted deftly, and delicately, and the effect almost resembles cut and layered tissue paper.
